Frequently Asked Questions

What is Integrated Science?

Integrated Science blends biomechanics, sound exercise mechanics, and structured movement to create personalized fitness plans that prioritize joint safety, muscular balance, and long-term physical resilience for strength and longevity at every stage of life.

How do I get started with Fitness Integrated Science?

Your journey at Fitness Integrated Science® begins with a personalized Health Assessment, where we evaluate your posture, range of motion, and movement patterns using evidence-based tools and Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). This allows us to identify areas of weakness, imbalance, or dysfunction so we can create a program that supports your individual goals — whether you're recovering from injury, looking to build strength, or improving joint health.

To support your progress outside the studio, we also offer the FIS OnDemand, which includes online support between sessions, live fitness and nutrition coaching, and a full library of joint-friendly, progressive strength training workouts, including a variety goal-specific programs.

Can I Work Out With An Injury?

Always consult your physician first, however our trainers are used to dealing with injuries. We have two MAT Specialists on-hand that can assist you. Many physicians refer patients to us, as we aim to be an adjunct to the work you are doing with other health professionals. Our focus and scope of practice is the muscular system.

We follow safe practices with progressive strength training that is rooted in isometrics first. We can help you uncover what areas are currently weak or underperforming in your body, then show you how to make these muscles stronger so that we can optimize your muscle health.

Are there structured exercises and programs that I will be able to do without getting hurt?

Yes! At Fitness Integrated Science®, we look at the individual first. Your sessions will be designed to match your goals and capabilities so that you will feel confident in the work we are doing together. Whether you're working 1:1 or in a small group with one of our trainers, your safety is our primary concern. Allowing your body to adapt to training over time will help you stay active and strong for a lifetime.
