We believe that Yoga Teachers have a great responsibility. So many can benefit from Yoga with improved core strength, bone density, immune health, fitness and emotional stability. Our Yoga Teacher Training programs provide teachers in training with a deeper understanding of Yoga anatomy, biomechanics, and neuroscience.
Our in-person Yoga Teacher Training Program is offered on weekends. We also host individual workshops throughout the year that are appropriate for anyone wishing to gain a deeper understanding of their own bodies and fitness practice.
Our coursework is approved for Continuing Education Hours by Yoga Alliance®. Yoga Integrated Science teachers in training learn to understand and apply the latest scientific research in anatomy, biomechanics and yoga philosophy to the art of yoga practice.
Elective Yoga Alliance Training Courses can be taken a-la-carte for personal interest or for RYT continuing education hours. Our next certification course is starting soon in Louisville!
This 7-month program meets one weekend each month. Learn to understand human anatomy. Students will cover how to apply isometric resistance to guide strength and mobility. This Yoga Alliance Training will cover the following topics:
These advanced classes help students further understand the anatomy that governs individual poses and the limitations that may be experienced by special populations. You will gain a deeper understanding of the many variations of poses and how to create modifications to address individual issues. These courses are available for those seeking a 300 hour certification or continuing education outside of their 200 existing certification (Yoga I.S. 200 hour is recommended for your understanding but not required) to achieve a 500 hour certification.
These courses are also available for continuing education hours. Yoga Alliance requires all yoga teachers to accumulate at least 30 hours of continuing education every three years. Currently, you can fulfill your 20 non-contact hours and your 10 contact hours online.
Our Program has been approved for submission to Yoga Alliance®. Go to www.yogaalliance.org for more information on the RYT certification and application process. Students are responsible for submitting their own paperwork for certification.
“I hardly know where to begin describing my experience with Yoga IS… The 200 Hr Teacher training literally changed how I personal train clients, prepared me to teach others their yoga practice and how to become stronger inside and out and be kind to the body. The instructor, Lauren Eirk presented the class in such a way that it was relatable to women and men with lots of ego. After her teaching I am proud to say I have a yoga practice and that I educate my classes as she has taught me. Best money I’ve spent for personal growth ever!”
Michael Bowers, RYS Virginia Graduate 2013
“The yoga I.S.® RYS 200 hour Teacher Training Program is absolutely life-changing, and has changed the way I view myself and my prospective students. I think less in terms of flexibility and more in terms of skeletal structures and anatomies to accept and nurture, less in terms of pretty Instagram pictures and more in terms of real yogic philosophy. The combination of yoga IS founder’s Lauren’s no-nonsense knowledge and teaching with master instructor Donna O’Bryan’s gentle and inviting style is a powerful one; you will leave this program changed, grateful and more knowledgeable than you could have imagined! Get ready to Shine!!”
Maria-Joelle Morris, RYS 200 Graduate 2018
